Invitation to the Hermann Paul Lecture 2025
Dear colleagues,
We are happy to announce this year´s Hermann Paul lecture, the highlight of our academic calender here in Freiburg. We are equally happy to announce our speaker and topic:
Human-centered LLMs for Inclusive Language Technology

Place: FRIAS Gebäude, Seminarraum EG, Albertstraße 19
We cordially invite all professors, researchers, and students to participate. Prof. Dr. Plank will discuss how human-centered approaches in the development of large language models (LLMs) can contribute to promoting inclusive language technologies. Following the lecture, there will be a reception offering an opportunity for discussion and exchange to jointly explore current questions and ideas.
Lecture Series "Language, Communication & Cognition"
We invite you to the lecture series "Language, Communication & Cognition". Researchers from Freiburg and guests present their research in weekly meetings. The lecture takes place on Thursdays, 2:15 - 3:45 p.m. at Platz der Universität 3, HS 1098.
Everyone interested in linguistics is invited to join! The lecture series is a platform to exchange ideas, present current research and get creative together.
